Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Signal CTO ("Signal CTO," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit signalcto.com (the "Site") or contact us through it. We keep our data practices deliberately minimal: we collect only what we need to respond to you and run the Site, we store it on infrastructure we control, and we never sell it.
1. Information you give us
We collect the information you choose to submit through our forms:
- Contact / Book a Signal Call: your name, email address, and the message you send.
- Technical Health Check request: your name, email address, company name, company stage, and the description of your situation you provide.
- Newsletter (The Signal): your email address, and which page you subscribed from.
You control what you send us. Please don't include sensitive personal information or confidential details in a form message — if an engagement calls for that, we'll set up an appropriate channel.
2. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our servers automatically log basic technical data when you visit — such as your IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use these logs to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site. We do not use cookies for tracking, and we do not run third-party advertising or behavioral analytics.
Our forms include a hidden "honeypot" field used only to detect and block automated spam; it is not visible to, or filled in by, human visitors.
3. How we use your information
- to respond to your contact request or Health Check inquiry;
- to send you The Signal newsletter, if you subscribed;
- to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site;
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
4. How your information is stored and shared
Form submissions are stored in our own database and emailed to us so we can respond. We share personal information only with the limited service providers that make the Site work, and only to the extent needed:
- Hosting and database: cloud infrastructure we control, which stores the Site's data and serves the pages.
- Email delivery: a transactional email provider used to deliver form notifications and newsletter messages.
- Web fonts: the Site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser's request (including your IP address) reaches Google when a page loads.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not otherwise share your information with third parties.
5. Data retention
We keep form submissions for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterward for our records, then delete or anonymize them. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
6. Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email us at [email protected] and we'll respond within a reasonable time. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
7. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International visitors
We operate from the United States, and your information will be processed there. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
